Privacy & cookies
Last updated 25 October 2026.
Velcourne is a personal fashion edit. There are no accounts, sign-ups, comment forms or checkouts on velcourne.com, and we do not ask you for your name, address or payment details. This page explains the little that is collected when you visit, which services are involved, and the choices you have.
At a glance
- Velcourne itself does not set advertising cookies and does not sell personal information.
- We measure visits with Google Analytics 4, which uses first-party cookies and loads only once you interact with the page or it has finished loading.
- The site is delivered and protected by Cloudflare, which also provides cookie-free Web Analytics.
- Product links go to independent retailers, mostly Amazon. When you click one, that retailer can set its own cookies to credit the visit to Velcourne.
- Pieces you save stay in your own browser.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-79J0P0XZE4) to understand, in aggregate, which edits are read and how people find them. To keep pages light, the Google tag is requested only after your first scroll, tap or key press, or once the page has finished loading and the browser is idle.
When it runs, Google Analytics receives the page you viewed, the referring page, your browser and device type, screen size, language, approximate location derived from your IP address, and interactions such as scrolling and outbound link clicks. It sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_79J0P0XZE4 on velcourne.com to recognise a returning browser; by default they last up to two years. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We see reports, not individual identities.
You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, use a content blocker, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google’s handling of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare hosting, security and Web Analytics
Velcourne is served through Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical information about each request, such as your IP address, browser, the page requested and the time. Your browser may also be asked to send anonymous network error reports (NEL / Report-To) to Cloudflare so delivery problems can be fixed. If Cloudflare needs to tell people from automated traffic, it may set a strictly necessary security cookie such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance.
We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics for simple visit counts and page-speed measurements. Cloudflare describes it as privacy-first: it does not use cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint visitors.
See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and Cloudflare cookies.
Amazon Associates and affiliate links
Velcourne is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Most “Shop” and “Paid link” buttons lead to Amazon.com and carry our Associates tag (velcourne-20). Nothing is shared with Amazon while you browse Velcourne; Amazon only receives your visit if you click one of these links. Amazon may then set or read its own cookies on amazon.com so a qualifying purchase can be credited to Velcourne. We receive aggregated reports of clicks, items ordered and earnings; we do not receive your name, address, payment details or order history from Amazon.
Once you leave Velcourne, the retailer’s or network’s own policy applies, for example the Amazon.com Privacy Notice and cookies notice, linked at the foot of every Amazon page. More on how we choose and label links is in our terms & disclosures.
Saved edits on your device
When you save an edit, the list is kept in your browser’s local storage under velcourne.saved-edits.v1. It never leaves your device and is not sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.
Fonts, social links and email
Our fonts, images and films are served from velcourne.com itself. We do not embed third-party players, feeds or comment widgets; links to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and our Substack newsletter are ordinary links, and those services’ own policies apply once you open them. If you subscribe on Substack, Substack handles your email address under its terms.
If you email us at velcourne.edit1@gmail.com, we use your message and address only to reply, and keep them no longer than needed for that conversation.
Your choices and rights
You can browse Velcourne with cookies blocked; every edit still works, although saved pieces need local storage. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, and many offer tracking protection. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask what personal information relates to you, and to have it corrected or deleted. Because we hold almost nothing that identifies you, the analytics and affiliate services above are usually best placed to help; we are glad to point you to the right place.

Children and changes
Velcourne is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If the services we use change, we will update this page and the date above.
